Climate Conditions
Are the stage
and house enclosed?
Is the performance
dependent on natural environment?
Do the climate
conditions change during the performance?
Does the engineering
product function to gain audience comfort?
Climate
during performance places a demand on the audience. Modern theatre
designers try to design the structure to provide a maximum amount
of comfort for the patron (without allowing him or her to fall
asleep). Air movement, ambient sound reduction, air conditioning
and heating are just a few concerns when designing a theatre.
The goal is to remove as many distractions as possible so that
the patron can engage in the experience with undivided attention.
